OSC KBKhA Rocket Engine Factory

OSC KBKhA possesses well-equipped production base (rocket engine factory), which allows to manufacture different LREs, measurement gauges and equipment, and conversion products.

Stainless and corrosion resistant steels, high-strength nickel and titan alloys, aluminum and copper alloys are widely used for production.

Rocket Engine Plant incorporates the following facilities:

  • Cast, thermal, and galvanic productions (Photo 1, 2);
  • Powder metallurgy plant (Photo 3);
  • Well-developed production, possessing Russian and foreign equipment, including computer controlled machines (Photo 4, 5, 6);
  • Equipment for soldering, modern welding, thermal protection layer plating, electron-discharge perforation (Photo 7);
  • Electro-discharge machine (Photo 8);
  • Assembly facility with equipment for static, dynamic, and climate tests (Photo 9);
  • Labs: non-destructive control, metallograph and chemical research, gas dynamic tests;
  • Tooling facility;
  • Repair facility;
  • Developed energy supply base.

Rocket Engine Factory Technologies

  • Precision casting (Photo 10, 11);
  • Hot isostatic pressing of impellers, pump and turbine operation wheels, complicated shape casings for high-stressed units (material – high-strength titan and nickel alloy powder – Photo 12, 13);
  • high-temperature gas-static healing of cast and forged pieces that increases stability of blank mechanical properties;
  • manufacturing of thin-wall cylinder parts, including SS outer, by rotation expansion method (Photo 14);
  • manufacturing of one part solid tees and spiders from pipe blanks;
  • mechanical machining of complicated-profile high-precision parts on multipurpose equipment and computer controlled machines (Photo 15, 16, 17);
  • electro-discharge machining of pump impellers and operation wheels and on company equipment;
  • electro-discharge filter perforation with holes ø 0.15÷0.8 mm (Photo. 18, 19);
  • electro-discharge structure welding from different materials, without separation of welded edges;
  • copper cover planting;
  • static, dynamic, vibration, climate, and gas-dynamic parts and units tests;
  • non-destructive control of cast and forged parts, control of welded and soldered joints by X-ray, dye penetrant and powder magnet inspection, electric current and ultrasonic methods;
  • ultrasonic control of tightening torque value.
